The Mysterious Affair at Styles

Agatha Christie’s debut novel. Meet Hercule Poirot, and his marvellous moustache, for the very first time. Poirot is a refugee from Belgium, during the First World War. He is a guest by the charity of Mrs Inglethorp at Styles Court. And then Mrs Inglethorp is murdered. It takes all Poirot’s ingenuity, making deductions from a stain on the carpet, noting traces of brown mould on the floor of the boudoir, and dusting a bottle of hydro-chloride of strychnine for fingerprints, before he can reveal the murderer.
